Them Bones

Them Bones, Howard Waldrop. Ziesing 1989. Limited 350. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. An incredible example of how to write a fast-plotted novel. Although the charactertization suffered a bit, there are two characters that will stay with you for awhile. Really, this is a great read. But don't expect explanation for time travel and paradoxes. There is a fair amount of archeology that was enjoyable to read, but that's it. This novel is meant to be read for entertainment, but I don't mean that in a bad way. Waldrop is a great writer. Note: the editing on this book is pretty bad, unfortunately. In fact, one chapter even repeats the first three paragraphs.
