Some of Your Blood
Some of Your Blood, Theodore Sturgeon. Millipede Press, 2006. Limited 300. This is a nice looking book--sans dustjacket--and although I'm not a fan of how they set their margins, I'm pretty excited about their forthcoming series. The one glaring omission is that there is no frontispiece, so there really is no reason to have Morris sign the book because there is no art. The publisher said that both this book and The Face that Must Die were screwed up by the printer. At any rate, nice books with a great future. As for the story...it ain't your typical vampire plot. In fact, you'd be best off not to think of it as vampire lit at all. That said, I really liked it. Sturgeon uses a lot of psychobabble to build a detailed picture of one very unusual man. It's a well-paced tale. Good for a gray, rainy, thoughtful afternoon.
